EDUCATION

The Association for Promoting Inclusion provides and hosts educational courses and training events for professionals, parents, foster families and guardians of persons with intellectual disabilities. 

API continually educates the staff in the support services we provide, and all other parties interested in the subject of care for persons with intellectual disabilities. 
Among other subjects, the education concentrates on the following: familiarization with the principles of inclusion, building relationships with persons with intellectual disabilities, recognizing the needs of persons with intellectual disabilities, Person Centred planning and the development of professional support services.

Since 2002 API has been a Model Site of the Open Society Mental Health Initiative    MORE

As part of the MATRA Dutch consortium project API has been assigned the task of providing educational seminars on the topic of Supported Employment to chosen institutions of social welfare. 

In November 2004 API was the host of the Gentle Teaching Training Seminar with John J. McGee organized by the Open Society Mental Health Initiative
